Well, I could say we (me, Alice and Jesmine) had a funny encountered!!!
It happened last Saturday... We went to Sunway Pyramid for a dinner. You must be wondering why Pyramid again. It's the nearest shopping mall since all of us are staying nearby there.
We ordered two personal pizzas, it's a new pizza - 'Keju Laya Piza Stuff Crust' in Malay Language ~ Direct translation - Cheese Layer Pizza Stuff Crust! Is that correct? Laya apa maksudnya?
The waiter promised that it will take 17 minutes only. Alice saw the roung tag on his uniform stated something like "Serve with a Smile". So, we expected that they will send the pizzas to us soon...
After 17 minutes, we called the waiter for our pizzas. He said it is on the way.
So we waited for another 15 minutes, then Jesmine and Alice called for the waiter and told him we had waited for more than half and hour. They just said wait. Fine!
We felt hungry and started to make noise, not to mention, the customers who were sitting besides our table were surprised by the way we complained to the staff in Malay. It is because we spoke broken Malay haha... Since after high school, we gave everything back to the teacher!
Alice complained that about the slow service and almost she bang hard on the table with her right hand, she saw another customer in red shirt (oppsite of our table) looked at her. Felt funny, she pretended nothing happen and called the waiter fot the third time. He came over and said that sorry we kept you waiting but it's on the way.
Guess what? Obviously we complained to him that the ice in the Pepsi drink melted and the drink was tasteless like water. And broken promise too! Almost finish our drinks, we wanted to pay for the bread and drinks only but we decided to wait.
Finally, the manager/head came over and placed two personal pizzas in front of us.. At first, I thought the pizzas are the ones we ordered earlier. Alice stared at her. Quickly she replied in Malay saying "Jangan marah" twice (means don't get angry). She said sorry and these two pizzas are free and they will send the pizzas soon....The same waiter who took our order earlier on, came and asked whether we want to refill our drink our not...Of course, 'yes' to them! Free drink and food!~Weeee..
We laughed like nobody business because we could imagine that they wanted to shut our mouths with free pizzas because we were too noisy. Not to mention, the other customers saw what we did and they made the same complain like us.. hahaha.... True enough, they scared when customer complains so many times..
Never we had 4 personal pizzas for 3 ladies. We felt satisfied and full but wasted our time waiting for about one and a half hour. Ended up not enough time to shop since all the shops closed already...
Honestly, in Malaysia, almost every Malaysian has this - 'don't care' attitude ('tidak apa') that's why customers always get bullied by sellers. Therefore, to show them we are educated and not easy to be bullied, we must voice up!!!!
My advice? Don't complain only one time, which is definitely not effective. Complain as many time as possible.. show them that we 'customers' have the right to get the valuable service from them! Moreover, they charged us 15% service and government taxes....
