Well, it has been three months that I'm not employed by any company, but FINALLY the one I'm interested, they want me to be a part of the team! Praise God. Although the first company showed favor in me and invited me the second interview, the result? I'm not hired! I think I screwed the second interview, and after that no news from them at all. But at least they should inform me whether I'm hired or not, and I don't think they are professional enough in terms of the hiring procedures.
I could say 'luan luan lai de' (It means simply in Chinese Language). Sorry I can't tell you which company although is an international firm. Not to mention, they made me wait for almost one hour before the 1st interview, and 30 minutes for the 2nd one, how inefficient? This made me felt bored and forgot to behave myself for two consecutive interviews. Anyway, it's good to meet all sorts of people especially the big bosses and gain interview experiences. Hehe...
I learned something from my dad. Every time, whenever you go for an interview, make sure you ask questions and don't sit down to wait for them to ask you questions. Prepare a list of questions in a size of a quater A4 paper and bring a pen too. Most important, this shows that you are keen or interested to know about the company. List down into categories, for example, product, business nature, brand into one, then job scope, working hours, salary, location, etc.
The next interview was in KL, a small building which my dad 'forced' or should I say 'asked' me to try to send my application to the email he gave me. Someone he knows because that 'person' was his client, and if you know me well, I don't like relationship 'sort of thing' when getting into a company. I just want to show my dad I can find a job without him introducing me in. So, I sent and waited for almost three weeks. Then, a lady (Marketing Director) called me on Sat. I was in Wesley for GB at that time.
My mom picked up the phone call, passed me the message and I replied her email. At first, I thought they don't want me although seems like no news from them and my dad kept on asking me the same question over and over again (Did they reply your email?). It's kinda agitating when he asked non-stop and my reply was still the same.
Next thing I knew I need to check out the company profile. Howevever, the website is under construction but I managed to get some information from GOOGLE SEARCH! I love you Google, I really do, for it is a best search engine. I went for the interview, and guess what I love talking to the Lady Boss. I think I had almost one hour chat with her in the conference room. I love to involve myself in the FMCG industry, this time I wished that God will give me this job. She even asked me to answer an interview question by email. She told me that she will finalize and let me know the outcome in the following week. Therefore, I waited for her reply. One week past, my dad asked me to send an email to ask her. I did and she mentioned in the email that she was quite busy at that moment and will get back to me in due course.
Again, I waited for two weeks this time, my dad is more 'geng cheung' (impatient) than me and kept on pestering me to send email to her. I told my dad that if they want to hire me, they will surely reply and I know it takes time for them to finalize. Not the ONLY ME that I'm applying for this job, some of my ex colleagues which I do not know who also applied for this job too. At first, I thought I won't get this job but didn't know last Friday afternoon when I was about to reply her, I saw an email from her in my GMAIL! I know it's worth while waiting for her reply.
I screamed in the living room, my mom thought I'm crazy or something wrong with me.... I laughed and told her that the lady replied and offer me the job. I was overwhelmed! Thank God! My dad supposed to be sleeping but actually was not, woke up and asked me about the email. See? My dad is more worried about the job... My parents and granny were kind happy for me too. They don't have to worry and nag me often about finding job. Hehe.
Well, I could say I'm blessed by His grace and answered prayer. She wants to discuss with me about the job scope, remuneration package and earliest availability this coming Wed at 1pm. I pray everything will go smoothly. Please pray for me :) Thanks! If can, this job can support my mission trip to Cambodia and holiday trip to Taiwan! Amen and good night!
